EA Sports UFC 5: A Bloody Brilliant Presentation
Technical Knockout
By Richard Seagrave | October 27, 2023Unlike many other sports titles handled by EA, UFC doesn't get yearly updates. That doesn't stop UFC 5 from feeling like a significant upgrade over UFC 4.
Finding the Perfect Mix
UFC 5 deftly balances a realistic and simulation-style approach with a more accessible and arcade-style experience. This results in a game that feels both authentic and fun to play.
Honest Thoughts
I've had a blast playing UFC 5 so far. The stand-up game has been significantly overhauled with new animations, and the damage system is much more realistic.
However, I do think there's room for improvement. The ground game and submission system could use some work, and the career mode could be more fleshed out.
Conclusion
Overall, UFC 5 is the best MMA game to date. It's a well-balanced and polished experience that will appeal to both casual and hardcore fans of the sport.
